yeah my renewal with the same company was over double. Searched around and got it down to pretty much the same as before. so no increase as such. Annoying thing is nothing has changed...no crashes AND another years no claims to boot. they're taking the mickey |

If we take it as a percentage, mine has gone up 16%, and I consider myself lucky. I'm afraid there is no getting away from these rises.
As I said to Richie the other day, bite their hand off for it, because once they start paying out for Japan.......... |

Related but as an aside.
Made initial enquiry today to insure my Disco 300TDi Commercial that I have managed to pry back from my son as he has now bought a car of his own. Went into the local NFU office (National Farmers Union) as they are well used to insuring Landrovers. Already got my no claims tied up in the Omega and explained that to the fella. Some basic info into his box of tricks and - most surprisingly - gave me a 60% introductory discount! When I challenged this, asking if it would rocket next year, he assured me that it would also be 60%. Premium came to £350 or so which, given that there is no real no claims on this, I thought it quite fair. Whats more, if you decide to pay it monthly its 1.5% or 2.5% APR or thereabots. Less than a fiver for 12 payments. I was quite impressed, to be honest.... :y |

NFU can be really good for the right car and the right person.
I grew up in Farmer country and they all loved it. Bearing in mind they all drive landies, l200's, rangers and the like. I dont think they would see the mig in such a good light though, who knows. |

I just have had to replace my omega. I got a fiesta 1.8d van and had to take out a commerical policy on it. Cost more to insure then the Miggy even though I will only be carrying golf clubs in the back and use it for commuting and domestic...!!!

Gave them a call after a loaf of shopping round and they came back with a quote £70 cheaper with far better cover xs £100 lower legal cover, home start and breakdown cover and a replacement van if mine is off the road due to a no fault accident result :y Still miffed though about the premium going up from £270 to £470. I know insurance is on the increase but that seems a bit steep :-/ |
