Title: power sounder
Post by greenfingers 79 on 26. Mar 2011 at 03:02
will be removing the bloody powersounder with a mind of its own tomorrow, have seen the how to but just wondering  how much time i should allow myself for this job?
is it worth trying to replace the batteries in the unit or just bin it?
could it be that the alternator could be at fault and ius not charging it correctly as have had a code before saying engine voltage low, but have replaced the battery since then.
how do i check that the alternator is working correctly and what voltage should it read?
cheers in advance
pete

Batteries can be replaced if the ps circuit board is undamaged by leaking battery acid. Cut it open with a hack saw around the seam, nout to loose.

There is a guide on checking battery voltages etc, alternator is covered. But not relevant to ps IMO. Codes will probably be historic, but checking is always a good thing.  :y
