Am I right in thinking the v6,s were all fitted with vented rear discs, or is my memory playing up again ? :-/

The very last V6s had vented but otherwise had solid. :y

Thanks Andy. I noticed mine were solid today, and thought it had the wrong discs fitted. Couldnt remember what was on my old one. ::)

Not unless you've been to the garage Mick Dundee used to get his changed.

Vented on V6 from 2001 onwards (not sure if it exactly ties in with 2.6/3.2 engines)

I think I was getting befuddled with early 2.0 fronts - they were solid iirc. :-[

Nope, all Omega fronts are vented. 2.0 up to 1997 were only 286mm diameter.

IIRC in TIS it says that the vented rear discs were introduced with 2,6/3,2 engines. However, I have seen at least two Omegas (Opel though... :-/) that have 3,0 engine and vented discs in the rear...

For the record my Miggy has vented rear discs,which I replaced with Mintex 18 months back and have had no problems,but the calipers are a different story as they are a now a non serviced product. All there is available are remanufactured ones the standard of which leaves a lot to be desired,especially the integrity of the castings as they are subject to harsh corrosive winter road spray.
