Title: Slight oil weep...
Post by lou on 03. Apr 2011 at 14:30
Have noticed over the last few weeks a slight bit of oil on bottom lip of the sump. This looking down in front of engine far left, bascially under the alternator somewhere. I have checked cam cover all round, it is all as dry as a bone and no traces of any oil. Is there anything at the side or further down from the alternator that can weep (Its only a smear of oil every week or so)?

I had same problem on mine and it turned out to be one of the cam seals, Elite Pete changed them when he put the 3 ltr cams in and not lost a drop since.
Mine has done a fair mileage though and I dont think the seals are a common problem but maybe worth checking. Your oil pressure switch is down in that area as well :y
