Under the A/C compressor. Feel forward about 50mm from dipstick tube and you`ll find the torx bolt that holds sensor in. Have you had the codes read to ascertain it`s the crank sensor and not the cam?

Thanks for your speedy response, yes. had codes read, code showing P.0335 which is Crankshaft Position Sensor also cleaned throttle body/replaced gasket as this was showing.  Does car need jacking up to access Crankshaft? thanks  ;)

Easier on a 4-poster but you can do it from above by removing aux belt fanbelt, unbolting the aircon compressor (but not disconnected) and the power steering pump to gain access......or you can do it by feel by removing manifold heatshield (torx bolts same size as crank sensor bolt), remove dipstick, pull out dipstick tube (tight push-fit) then accessing sensor bolt.

Hi again, does compressor have to come off to gain access? difficult to see!

If doing it by feel only, no, but it will give better access if you can`t reach the retaining bolt. Doesn`t need total removal regardless of which way you choose :)
