Now that the weather is improving is there any interest in a social meet on the outskirts of Swindon.

I was thinking along the lines of a social meet and BBQ - bring your own food.... they do NOT allow cars to be worked on.....

This is a very nice site with things for kids/wives etc to do as well.

Not setting a date yet .. just gauging interest .. if enough is shown I'll contact them and see what dates are available ...  I'm guessing a sunday afternoon would suit most folks the best ??

However it'll be date-dependant, chiefly due to work commitments. :-/

OK .. I've spoken to Lydiard and we can have several dates, but due to my committments I'm looking at either Sunday 5 June or Sunday 12 June.... at the moment ....

Now their "charges" are 1/2 day sessions at £25 for up to 15 people, or £40 for up to 40 people .. OR full day at £60 .. :(

Session timings are ... 11:00 - 15:30  or  17:30 - park close.

They require payment in advance and do NOT give refunds ... but MAY (?) allow you to change the date in the event of having to cancel.

I'm happy to pay upfront and collect £1/£1.50 ish a head on the day if thats what folks want ... so could folks indicate preferences

Session : Early, Late, All Day
Numbers planned to attend :

Format would be a social BBQ / picnic / kick around/ talk rubbish/ whatever .. :) but NO WORKING ON CARS...  bring your own food (I'll provide the "coals"), ladies & kids welcome, lots of things to do around the park.

Just thought i'd check how late the park is open....the website seems to indicate until 'dusk' which when i did a quick google on sun set times, is about 9pm in june...

An 'all day' job on 5 June would probably suit us best.

How firm is that date? only it's a real pain trying to get time off at short notice.Suppose I can always refer to my book of 24hr tropical ailments for a solution  :D :-X ;)

Think i can do both but do have a wedding on the 11th have to check when i'm on nights. Is it going to be an all day dooooo. :o :o ;)

Ok ... seems the 5th June for an "all dayer" (11:00 to dusk) is the most popular.

Before I book this I need a few more to be pretty solid in their intentions as it's £60:00 up front.

To make life easy just let me know how many adults are planned. The £60 will be spread evenly over those .. so the more that commit the cheaper it gets .. :)

Think i'm off will have to check at work when i go in next. The brother and the wife want to go so that's 3 of us. :y

Due to the apparent lack of interest.... the BBQ part of this will not occur... no point in booking and paying £60 up front for just 3 cars... is there any interest in just a "meet" in the car park ??? The only food/drink facilities would be the park cafe.

Unfortunately I've got a commitment for the Saturday and it's a long way to come, especially so close to the other one
