Title: question..
Post by cem on 13. Apr 2011 at 18:24
As I have some plans for miggies paint , I need to learn the paint primer used in omega.. what make-model (number) and is it still in production , if not whats the equivalent quality primer will you recommend ?

We can use ordinary primers but stones chip them very easy :(

Surely it's the paint and laquer that the stones chip, not the primer?  :-/

I have several cars painted in the past.. as its hard to sand down to primer most painters prefer cleaning to bare metal with solvent.. But then their primers -generally white- become chipped very easy and you can see bare metal again :-?.. its never like the original..  :-/

You would be better researching a primer suitable for the paint system that you will be using for the colour coats. And that's as simple as asking the paint supplier/manufacturer.

thanks.. :y

as far as I understand the original primer coat is much stronger than any primer applied by painters.. (and experience prooves that).. all painters try to rid of sanding the paint until the primer as its a long and tedious job and want to use solver instead  >:( .. But I want to keep it.. So this means I'll do the sanding myself (meaning nearly a month or more sanding practice)..  no problems.. I did many times before and I'll do it again..although this time a larger area :P
