no chance. You should only tow to the mptlm of your car. Problems arise when you want to STOP & the tail is wagging the dog.  ;)

I wonder what the rules are in Austria?

To answer your question, it will pull it, just not very well.

but like I say, pulling it isn't the b all & end all of towing. Your car has to be heavy enough to stop it, that's why the towing maximum is based on the weight of the car & doesn't make allowances for engine size.  ;) ;)
Airstreams are bloody huge!!!  :y

No. I think they have a train weight of about 3.5 tonnes (an Omega is higher at around 4). Subtract the weight of the van and its' load and it won't pull 3 tonnes.

In any case, I wouldn't tow anything with a van unless the van itself was well loaded.

A Disco can tow 3.5 tonnes, IIRC, so that might be an option.

Ime transits can barely manage on their own if empty, and great fun a hand full in the wet, add in a pikey palace on the back and must be looking at an easy jack knife...?

You must have driven some seriously knackered vans!
Any healthy turbo Transit has no problem pulling lots of weight, but you do go through brakes pretty quickly.

Hire vans mostly, all very scitish when empty. As expected given the designed load capacity...
