Title: Someone has already done this? Post by blackviper90210 on 03. May 2011 at 21:10
I'm sure not long ago, someone modded their mini facelift with a facelift bonnet & bumper. Can anyone direct me in that direction please?
Just curious how easy/difficult it is, also, can the facelift door mirrors be fitted on the mini facelift? TIA :y |

Bonnet & Bumper. Headlights are different, as are the trim pieces below the headlights. The different headlight washer jets will have to be plumbed in too.
The good news is, everything should bolt on fine. |

1. Facelift Bumper
2. Facelift Bumper Beam 3. Bumper Foam (absorber) 4. Facelift Bumper Brackets + Nuts 5. Facelift washer bottle. Bumper`s a tight fit but will go. The grille can be refitted, if you have the standard grille you can cut this down to make it fit back on, if you have the irmscher grille fitted you will have to slant the grille for it to sit properly and allow the bonnet to shut. If fitting F/L bonnet I imagine you will need a new slam panel. Door mirrors....straight swap |

Does the bonnet just bolt back in place and does the slam panel need to be "adjusted"? |

Too true! ;D As far as I know, the Slam Panel is the same and will accept the F/L Bonnet. |

both cars are the same underneath (rear wings excepted). The swap has been done both ways. There are/used to be pictures of a OOFers prefacelift with facelift bonnet, bumpers etc fitted and also a few months ago a facelift car on Autotrader/eBay that had had a front end bump repaired with a preface lift front end. The seller apparently knew nothing about it :-? :-? ;D ;D |
