Title: Dead throttle, intermitent
Post by Jan Suhr on 10. May 2011 at 11:58
I have a strange problem with my '01 Z22 Omega.

If I stop the engine and start again within a very short time, like a minute, the throttle will not react to any pedal movement. The rpm is around 1300 when this happens. If I shut down the engine again and wait five minutes and start again everything is back to normal.

I have taken the gas pedal apart but it looks OK to me.

What can be wrong? Do I need to change the throttlebody?

Thanks

Jan

Wheres all the 4 pot owners?

Anyway, I'm not a 4 pot owner, but cleaning throttle body is a good move anyway. But I wonder if the drive by wire is acting up ? Believe there are throttle and pedal position sensors that can be interegated via tech 2 and live data. Any fault codes can also be checked.

If you have the facility to do so, certainly would be interesting to see live data when it happens...
