It's an old wish since I drove the Supermirafiori!!
Has anyone retrofitted it?
Do you know if roof on these cars have xtra reinforcements?
Can be used current roof panel?

well there's a bizzare request,, seems like one hell of alotta work for not much return, if you fill in the hole in my roof you can have mine!!

I made it before on 131 with a simple one(just up and down) and was quite easy!! :y

Nightmare, just buy another Omega with one already fitted. They are cheap enough!

Standard push up roof is easy to fit. "Nibbler" for the metal roof and oscillating small blade circular saw for the roof re-bars

Yep. Used to retrofit them in new Toyota Previa`s straight off the boat at Portbury dock

Silcone sealant can cover a multitude of sins. :y ;D

If I was going to retro fit a Webasto I would want the old vinyl one that folds back over almost the whole roof... :) :)

It's a lot of work for very little return IMO. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I have opened an Omega sunroof in the last 3 years ;) I tend to use the climate all the time anyway and open the window if I want some air from outside :y

If you do go down that route you'll need a new roof lining too ;)

I was delighted to find an Omega without a sunroof when I bought mine. Can't abide the things. A load of extra weight in the worst possible location (high up in the car).

If it doesn't leak, it'll develop a mind of its' own and start opening itself or, at the least, the paint will flake off the surround and it'll look tatty.

Don't bother - IMHO. ;)

yep.. although repairable (random openings) , there is no cure for paint problems.. the corners around the sunroof are the weakest points and the first point for the laquer to burn .. mine started from there and needs a re-paint now :(

depends.. on relatively colder climates.. its not necessary.. however , for a relatively hot climate its nice to have it as when you come from outside , air condition directly makes me sick..so I prefer opening it and windows..

I find them as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike in the U.K. :y :D

I would dearly love mine to have one, especially for when we drive through Europe (good for looking up at scenery). They're also the quickest way to get heat out of the car on a hot day and, if that wasn't enough, you get the feeling of driving with the windows open without all the noise.

I asked Steve from Omegaspareparts (?) about it (they break a lot of them) he said the original ones have a lip in the sheetmetal all the way around and different braces across the roof - not to mention the roofliner.

That's what I miss! :y

....brings back memories of driving six pot two and a half liter beamer(I'm swearing I know sorry) ::) with sunroof open, windows closed, trough the tunel or on narrow roads between buildings,....shift down, pressing the gas pedal and listening to the roar coming from the exhaust.ahhh........ now I drive omega which is better, but I miss two pots, don't have sunroof but don't need it because no sound is produced out of my little grinder under the bonnet :'(
