Title: Problems with revving once up to temperature
Post by bench1992 on 07. Sep 2011 at 19:06
Hi
Im new to the forum so bare with me :D
I have a 2.6 V6 facelift omega. Its manual with 60,000 on the clock. Recently I have been having some problems once the car is up to temperature. When you rev it, it sometimes limits the engine down to about 1200 revs. If the limit doesnt kick in,  when you are travelling along, it feels like you are taking your foot of the accelerator when in fact it stays in the same place. I have been advised that it is the ECU but i have replaced it and no different. I have also replaced the fuel filter and the mass air flow meter. If anyone has any ideas please give me a shout. One thing i should mention is that there is a small amount of oil coming out of the rocker cover gasket but I have been advised that there is no cause for concern. The problems only occur when the car gets to around 80/90 degrees.
Thanks for reading this! :D

First port of call is the "pedal trick" to ascertain whether there are any fault codes

...........and oil emanating from the camcover gasket/s is a cause for concern
