Oil Leak :(
24. Jul 2006 at 22:59

Having had a few problems over the past few weeks with the meega, I thought I had nailed the odd squeak from the suspension, squealing brakes, and the HBV leaking with the help of Geffd and his mate Pete, thanks guys. I've come across yet another problem, the omega seems to be loosing oil in very small amounts, its not that bad I have to keep topping it up, but its bad enough too make a hell of a mess on the road. I've checked the sump/plug and filter housing but it ain't coming from either of these anyone know where the usual place oil could be coming from? when Geoff did the timing belt he did say the rockers were leaking slightly but it wasn't that much of a problem as there was hardly any back pressure from the oil filler cap. The oil is clean and it should be as I only changed it 2000 miles ago, would the rockers go down hill this quickly especially with clean oil and filter in there. I do suspect the rockers leaking from the rear as there is nothing from the front and it does appear to idle erratically, anyone any ideas?

Does sound like rocker gaskets(s) to me. It only takes a spoonful of oil to make a mess.

I'd get rockers done, then see if it persists...

I find nice clean, thin, synthetic oil and some hot weather is a great way to create oil leaks.......

As mentioned before, pop it over one evening and we can get it sorted.

cheers mark, I'll get the bits, I've already got 16 small rubber seals (P/N 90411826) and 6 new spark plugs (P/N 9195109) what else is needed?
