Damn....more expense!

How is it that every time my car goes to the garage for something, there's always something else that needs doing Sad Last week it went in for 10k minor service and they tell me the front shocks need replacing (and they were right too), so today it goes in to have the shocks done and I get a call from them to say that my battery's knackered Sad  (and they're right about that too as it turned over very slowly this morning).

Maybe I should get rid of it and buy something cheaper to run........nah, on second thoughts Wink

Omegas are not cheap to run unless you are prepared to do lots of the work yourself...

Front shocks are a bit of a pain, you'll need a spring compressor to get the job done, and after re-assmebly you'll need to get the camber checked etc so fair enough leaving it to the garage, but the battery is a classical DIY job - and the Vx GO brand only costs thirty-something on Trade Club and that's with three years warranty...

As said in previous threads, I really would like to be able to do some stuff myself but thre are good reasons for this:-
A) I rerally know bu**er all about todays engines/mechanics Sad
B) Sorry but....yes...I work in an office on computers all day  Embarrassed
C) The only tools are have couldn't repair even Noddy's car Lips Sealed
D) I live in flat and my parking space is underground Huh

So I do what every other car "technophobe" does and fork out far too many beer vouchers Cry Cry

But....what the hell.....I luv me old Miggie Smiley

Well, here's the damage. Full bill came to £275.00 Cry
This was for suppy and fit new front shocks, re-balance wheels (and swop wheels around) full 4 wheel geometry, new (premium)battery.

The difference.......WOW!! Shocked like driving a completely new car. The steering is so much sharper and precise, it's like going back to the day I bought it - all I want to do is drive it all the time. Do you think I need to see a doctor?? Undecided

Yeh, for an independent they're pretty good on price and the guy that runs the place cut his teeth on Vauxhalls working at VX main dealer for many years. (is that a good thing? Roll Eyes)
