Remote 'Blipper'
05. Aug 2006 at 16:25

Seperate from my brakes problem, I replaced the battery today. It all works well and i was expecting the remote blipper to work.

The lights flash on the remote red and green depending which button you press, and the central locking works with the key but the blipper does nothing.

Do you have to re-program the blipper some how to the car?

follow resync instructions in car guide (from memory, turn ignition to II and press the remote a few times)

just been trying it... the guide pictures the remote built into the key, i have the seperate blipper.

When i first got in and turned on the igintion the pressed the lock button. The car unlocked and then locked. So that should have programmed it, but using it outside the car no joy, does nothing.... Angry

Battery seams good lights up ok, trying to re-program it again... and nothing happens this time Sad

Have you just got the one key?

Probably battery, despite what the LEDs say - IIRC, CR2032 (as used on PC motherboards). Sometimes the buttons go a bit Pete Tong, easy enough repair normally if you are proficient with soldering iron.

Do you have the Carpass - worse case scenerio is pick new remote on Fleabay (around £5) and get someone with Tech1/Tech2 to program to your car - although you may struggle to get someone to do it do to the fact the car isn't in your name (most reputable key programmers need to be satified you are legal owner of car).

soldering i can do! did enough of that as my techy placement, although my iron tip is quite thick. i doubt its small enough to touch up the blipper parts.

I have 2 keys, but i don't think i have a car pass. I will have another look for it.

I used the key with the blipper attached... maybe i should try the spare key?

Sorry, by two keys, I meant two remotes. If so, do both remotes play up, or just one?

whey heyyy it works!  Smiley Smiley Smiley

Took the blipper apart, cleaned all the connections. Put it back together again, and it works instantly no re-programming needed  Smiley
