either:

a) picked up a stone between the pads and the disc or

b) pads worn down, now metal to metal, and the pad wear indicators have been bypassed

all assuming that its only on one side and goes with wheel/roadspeed, not engine speed?

Would a good bit of braking get rid of any stones?

When you talk about cleaning up the calipers and using the copper grease, what exactly do you recommend? I will be replacing my temporary wheels soon, and intend having a good luck round the brakes etc. Not sure at this stage of replacing them (no warning signs as yet), and have noticed another thread about changing the brake fluid,which I will consider. Is copperslip grease best to use for the wheel nuts and hub, to ease any future wheel changes? Cheers

I was kinda thinking loose aux belt.....but this you will get when stationary as well as moving.

Prolly totally wrong.....its just i drive mpv's sometimes....company owned and not maintained very well.....some of them squeal like a pig when you first start em....and can still squeal when moving.
