I have covered around 1100 miles in the last fortnight averaging 15mpg for towing and short runs to the beach.Towing at road limits hurts fuel consumption however I got from Okehampton to Worcester on one tank of gas

Shocked Shocked Shocked Ouch!! but I know what it's like. I used to tow a large trailer full of mobile disco equipment in my previous car (Pug 605 SVDT), and when I took it down to Cornwall it used to slaughter the fuel economy by a good half.
