Yup, looks like server came back up at around 5:40am - I little later than expected, but Microsoft had released a bucket load of patches so probably took longer to install than normal.

Indeed they did....

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS06-040.mspx

...is a critical one, released on Tuesday. If you have a server at work, anyone, make sure this patch is installed....
