I found that the best way to clean the plenum top is to spray the carb cleaner onto a soft cloth (I used kitchen towel at the time) and rub that over the plenum top, rather than spraying onto the top itself and rubbing with a cloth ... uses much less carb cleaner too ...

I was thinking about that myself... but then I read on the 'other' site that the plenum is actually painted silver and the paint will peel off... Now mine definitely looks like bare alloy so I'm thinking perhaps the previous owner on that guy's meega spray painted the plenum? Does anyone know for sure if the plenum is painted or not?
