Speedy Gonzales....
25. Aug 2006 at 19:34

No, not Liverpools new player.........does anyone know what car this traffic cop was driving on the M54 at 159mph, coz I want one!

The quickest I have ever been on a motorway is about 115-120mph(couldn't see exactly as I was scared to take my eyes off the road)

I most definately would not feel safe at that speed, no matter what I was driving. Some of our roads(even motorways) are in an appalling state. PHEW!

it was 2 years ago, so could well have been a 3.2 Omega  Cheesy

They are good for 160mph... (if in manual form)

Do you break V6's as often as TheBoy? Then you need tunnie's towing services, recovery costs are just the humiliation of being towed by 2/3's of an engine

A BMW....why didn't they throw the book at him...if they'd have caught you doing 115-120 they'd have thrown the book at you.

If it was a beamer,as you say AA, they must be some motor. I personally have never driven one. On the in-car video there was hardly a whisper of sound and it looked sooo smooth

It was...................................

Wait for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Vectra!!  Shocked

I think he was retried after the public outrage.

Don't get me wrong though, these guys have to practice, but we as the general public also have to practice. I think if the conditions allowed him to do 159 then all well and good as long as he wasn't endangering the life(s) of anyone else, but I also think that the same consideration should be taken when booking a civvy.

I mean, being booked for 83 on a non congested motorway in perfect conditions is taking the p*ss a bit I think! (Guess who's talking through gritted teeth from personal experience?!?!?!)
