Guys reference the  ecu and key  programming some south african bloke turned up and re-programmed it in seconds and gave me a new remote all for 60 quid however he said the previous code left on there indicated that it had a speedo fault or something to do with the gear box i know that something does fail on the auto gear boxes and its quite easy to fix if it is that problem    any ideas im still waiting for my haynes manual 

I'll have to put up my Tech2 charges if I can get away with charging £60 for a key programming

I am assuming whilst programming, he noticed some faults stored about g/b speed signal failure? Don't worry about it, probably had a new crank sensor at some point, and never had the code cleared.

Did the guy need your PIN from the carpass?
