Crack of Doom
19. Sep 2006 at 12:33

Just been reading up on the door check strap.

I have noticed that my drivers door is showing the early signs.

It looks as though my 2.2 has been factory fitted with the modification as the plates are held on with Torx screws.

Question, does this mean I only have to replace the plastic bush?

For the cost of the parts, I may as well buy the lot I suppose.

What I would suggest is try the bush replacement it may just be this needed, although whatever you dont use could be credited back Smiley win win situation either way

Go for the bush only AA. I did mine a couple of months back and found there was no bush in there.
19 pence plus VAT, and the crack of doom that had been present since I bought the barge was cured.
I'm a Notherner so was well chuffed at the price of the fix.
If, it turns out you need the plates just PM me, as i bought the lot (for 1 door), and you can have them for the postage cost.
