Refuses to start
15. Oct 2006 at 09:05

Hi
I have a pre-facelift Omega 2.0, ( only had it two months ), if I travel 12 mile round trip, then turn off the engine, it wont re-start, I get all lights on dash, and a click from around ( it seems ) the gearlever area, is there a starter relay anywhere that could be at fault. your help would be appreciated.

ps have fitted a new battery

Regards

Welcome Peanuts.   Thumbs Up!
if you post your problem in the help section you will probably get a quicker response, although I'm not sure you will get anything today as a lot of the boys are at Santa Pod.

Peanuts

welcome, as ross said - posting in the help section will get the input you need. Dont be put off today by slow response, as almost all members on here are at santa pod, and those that arent are meeting in stirling!!

Meantime - is it turning over, whats the milage, any recent work, does it eventually start - or only after cooling down.....im thinking sensor related but if you can provide some more info....

oh and finally you may want to look in the other areas on our forum, for the paperclip test - this is a test you can do that will flash u any issues your car has on your omega computer screen, it will also help us determine the fault.

All the best

Hi

2.0 Ltr GLS Auto R Reg, Starts fine in the morning,  10 to 12 mile round trip, then nothing on arriveing back home, turn the key just a click,   no dimming of head lights, dash lights stay bright, new battery fitted, I tried the old screw driver to the ear trick, on a part where there are four small bore pipes coming out, because when my son in-law turned the key the click seemed to come from this part, it is just below the battery, I know I am clutching at strews but help needed urgent, please, have not done anything to car only fitted battery supplied by vauxhall dealer.
