Good luck with your test and getting an Omega.  I found all sorts of useful advice on here which made buying my first Omega much easier...  Insurance price is a bit of an ouch though but probably par for the course I guess.  Anyway - welcome!

Hello and welcome to the site.  Given your age and insurance woes, I'd plump for a 2.2 CD or above.  Thumbs Up!

If choice and finance permit an MV6 (sport) or Elite (toys) would be best choice, but both are V6 and pricey to insure Embarrassed

Hello and welcome to the site as said dependant on funds and personal choice a 2.5 V6 isn't that much more to run fuel wise than a 2.2 4 pot. MV6 is the sportier version Elite has all the toys and you get alot of "bang" for your bucks due to heavy depreciation Thumbs Up! good luck with your test and be sure to ask any questions about buying a luxobarge on here cos they know there stuff Cool

Mechanically nothing much out of the ordinary really with a V6 Omega,I've done oil cooler, cam cover gaskets, breathers, cam belt, usual Omega stuff really! Mot wise, failed on the N/S/R brake pipe which can be a mission and steering idler, but overalll pleased with her,10 years old and 160k can't really grumble

WinkCongrats on passing your test. Despite Migs being value for money ins. groups are a bit steep.
Try confused.com & enter a few models you fancy (cars!!) then you'll get an idea what to shop for.
Let us know when you find your Mig. Smiley
