I have had my 2.5 cd omega (2000) for just over 1 trouble free year.Just lately however  I have a loud whistling noise comeing from the front nearside of the engine. It is only on start up and only lasts for aprox 1 min.No lights appear on the dash to tell me there is a fault.local vauxhall dealers wont tell me whats wrong unless i pay the earth and nobody else seems to know whats wrong.has any body got any ideas.

Howdoo, and welcome to the forum.  Feel free to pull up a keyboard and join in.   Thumbs Up!

As stated, it will be the secondary air injection.  Rummage under the front nearside wing, from the front, and you will see the pump.  Disconnect the electrics and all will be fine.  Its there to allow the cat to get to operating temp quicker and reduce emmissions.

Post any other queries in the relevant thread, though, please.  You will get a quicker response there.   Thumbs Up!
