Sep 2007 at 20:35 i might have the chance of xenon h/lamps. do the facelift ones fit pre-facelift and does anybody know if its a easy job. do they just plug in or are the plugs different. if they have self levelling can i just ignore it and ajust them manually. thanks

Are they xenon or projector? Xenon have a ballast pack on the rear of the unit, if they do then you will need to get some wiring done for them to work.

Facelift and prefacelift are different.

Also, as has been stated several times before, legally need automatic levelling (so get sensors, ecu and loom), and a washing system (so get all the washing stuff from the donor car).

TBH, better just to stick with projectors and better bulbs, unless you fancy this amount of work (and it is non trivial)

projectors? is that what the standard h/lights are called. if so what would you recomend as the brightest bulbs i could buy as the standard lights are terrible.. ta

I use philips aftermarket kit which is really superior to the original ones .. (I dont have lenses)

I compared with original xenons in the night and originals are weak compared to mine...

To do properly, in the UK, you need to have an auto levelling and washer system, which the aftermarket type do not have.

Additionally, when comparing, remember newer bulbs are brighter than those with a few hundred hours use on them...

I think the lenses affect..Mine make the street like daylight
