Sep 2007 at 16:09 Hello, Can you get replacement plastic sheets from VX dealer to replace the damaged or ripped one on my mv6, today I repaired the door check strap and noticed there was a number on plastic sheet is this a part number:

Sep 2007 at 16:19 No, they sell it by the meter (I have some in the garage) and you have to cut it to size. Duck tape is pretty effective at repairing it.

I agree with Mark, Duck Tape... mines got a bit on one of my front doors, I'm assured it's crucial due to the pressure sensor in the door for side impact activation of the air bags.... DaveC

Sep 2007 at 20:56 Yup, gaffer/duct tape does the job. And quite correct that it needs replaced because of a pressure sensor in the door for airbag activation. Gone are the days of its sole use being to keep the damp inside the door and not onto the inner door card.....

Sep 2007 at 18:52 On the Jag X-Type, it is made of moulded foam type material with mastic around the edge to stick it on. LOADS better than thin plastic (if it fits) because it will make the interior quieter. Paul.
