dbug Omega Lord Offline Dont knock Linux! Posts: 7822 Northants Gender: Drives: 98 V6 Elite auto	Silent Horn 23. Sep 2007 at 16:06 Hi 1998 Elite 2.5V6 auto. Noticed today my horn wouldn't work. Checked fuse (17) 20amp and OK. Is this a known issue with omegas? - B4 i start checking relays and connections at horns undeneath etc. Any help appreciated

You're right, it is uncommon, but does happen. Omega often has twin horns (some don't), so unlikely to be horn itslef, more likely relay - but always worth checking that power is getting to horn itself...

Which one is horn relay?
Probably easier to check volts in/out ok here first.
If relay ok guess i'll have to crawl underneath and check volts at horns, connections, earth etc.
In the meantime i'll drive with the window open and SHOUT!!!

Relay is in cabin fusebox, the one under diag socket...

Sep 2007 at 20:33 I had a problem with one of my horns in that the convoluted plastic tubing that should protect the wiring had in fact worn through the wire in side it. I traced the break in the wiring to under the battery. 10 minutes with a soldering iron & a roll of insulation tape I then had working twin tone horns!

Sep 2007 at 17:11 Thanx to TB for eliminating relay by swapping a known good one. Solution was very simple - plug the power lead back into the horns and suprise they work! Should have checked this first !!!!!!!!!!!!
