Sep 2007 at 16:58 how does it work? i went to gatwick today and halfway there im thinking to myself, the ride is a bit choppy so i pull up on the hard shoulder(4am) and lo and behold the a*s of the car is about 2" higher than it used to be(maximum height).the level actuator is still attached to the suspension so where do i start?

Sep 2007 at 17:38 Damn, there was another thread like this not so long ago. Can't remember what the conclusion was. Obviously something has failed. I think there maybe a fuse to the levelling compressor but hopefully there's someone else able to help out

Suspension sensor feeds back to ecu, if ecu thinks its low, it fires up the pump... ...quite a simple system...

There is a sensor on the rear drivers side trailing arm that monitors the rear ride height (close to the diff).

If to low, it trigges a relay which fires up the compressor and pumps the shock up. There is also a small valve which can be triggeres to lower it.

On my estate, just before it was written off. I was in the process of fitting a seat height adjustment switch in the boot so I could raise and lower the back manualy (coz the sensor was playing up!)

Sep 2007 at 23:18 hi, i had the same problem recently, switch the car off and pull off the air pipe on the rear shock and the system will expell all the air, refit the pipe and clip and start the car up and it should refill the system and automatically adjust the level.
