Power Steering Help.....
24. Sep 2007 at 19:11

The steering on my '98 Elite went quite heavy this morning. I noticed it whilst turning into the yard at work and a rank smell eminated from under the car. I stopped the engine and took a look under the bonnet and found nothing obvious. No leaks, correct PAS fluid level ect.....However, even though the fluid was a nice red colour, it seemed a bit thin like water and had a bad burnt smell to it. I know this type of fluid is thin anyway but it seemed too watery to me. Drove home ok but the heaviness is still there. Pump letting go maybe? Any suggestions?

Thanks  Thumbs Up!

Is there any assistance at all? If not, check fuses.

Funny you should say that because tonight I had to replace the 30 amp instrument fuse that controls all the heater switches on the facia. Just blew?? There is some assistance.

If it was Fuse 14 (ciggy lighter, climate etc), that that powers the PAS ecu...
