in the Omega TD auto, the AR25 box was used.

This is fitted in all 2.5V6 Omega's.....

Not sure whats in the 2.0 Omega.

So any parts sourced from a V6 Omega will be fine. The torque converter from the AR35 (Omega 3.0/3.2's) should also be fine....

Actually, sod it, just fit an AR35....

Do you break V6's as often as TheBoy? Then you need tunnie's towing services, recovery costs are just the humiliation of being towed by 2/3's of an engine

Yes it works. I think it needs reprogramming though.

the diesel torque converter has 3 bolts holding it to the flex plate, the petrol version has 6. they will both  physically fit  the gearbox but you cant make the petrol flexplate fit the diesel

Absolutely. It's the TC stall speed that defines the character of an auto box and it's matched to the torque curve of the engine, so likely to be radically different on a TD.

It'll take off like the proverbial off a shovel with a petrol TC stall speed, but road manners and economy would be appauling!

Cobblers Wink

TD Torque converter is unique to the TD in the Omega range.

Just to clarify some things in this thread....

The gearbox (ideally AR35, but AR25 OK) can come from any other Omega.

The TC and the bellhousing on the gearbox MUST come from a TD car.

On earlier gearbox ECUs (pre 98), I believe the ECU is unique to TD (but would need to confirm), but later ECUs are the same as petrols, but run a different 'map' which can be put on via Tech2.
