Sep 2007 at 22:01 Any body know why the front heated seat won't work, the lights on the switch's come on and the fuse's look ok but the seats don't get warm, HELP ANY BODY, WINTERS COMING AND I DON'T WANT A COLD BUM.

Sep 2007 at 22:04 Open circuit heating element ?? ie .. knackered .. The rears have relays .. the fronts don't appear to, but there IS a "Heater control module - drivers"- A98 could be that I suppose

Seriously. Check that you do have 12v all the way up to the seat, you probably wil have and as Entwood says the element(s) will be open circuit. Remove the seat & have a look for scorching which will likely lead you to where the element has failed. My driver's seat was sorted by remoing an inch or 2 of the element & resoldering back to the main wiring. You can only gain by looking as the worse that can happen is that you end up with heated seats that don't work! (apart from triggering airbags! Shocked

) Disconnect your battery though & have a cig/brew before you mess with airbags in seats if applic. Thumbs Up!

Sep 2007 at 11:37 I've had a close look at the front seats in our 98 Elite, they are cloth but the elements appear to be part of the seat covering, not separate pads. The heating elements are open circuit and one has arced, burning a hole in the cover. I suppose either cover or seat change. Anyone breaking an Elite with black cloth seats?
