Hi all!
10. Nov 2007 at 16:18

Afternoon everyone,

I'm new at Omega ownership (only had it 3 days!) and pretty new to Vauxhall having only had a chevette estate in the past and an astra for 3 weeks. I'm really a Ford man with numerous cortinas tucked away.

Wanted a cheap, rear wheel drive motor for dangerous winter driving and the omega lent itself to that perfectly!!! Bought a 3.0 elite saloon for £500 on an N plate. Plenty of car for the money and, although I hate to say it, much better than the Granada or Scorpio.

I do have some, mainly electrical, niggles with it so you'll find me, shortly after this, in the technical section!!

Good to meet you all and please forgive my Ford roots! LOL!

Welcome to the site Smiley

Glad you've seen the light - quite a few Ford people don't believe the Grandad and Scorpio can be beaten Wink

SmileyWelcome aboard Lowtina. I'm sure you'll enjoy the Elite. Soon as i've sold my Landy i'll be looking for another 'Tina to play with, prefer early Mk3 but would consider a 1 or 2 if it was the right one. Smiley

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

The omega was only meant to be a winter car but it is suprisingly good to drive so I might well keep her a little longer!! That's not more Ford fan disbelief, it's just that for such a big car, it's really predictable and less sofa like than every other big car I've owned (including jags and mercs).

In responce to Amigov6, I have a '72 mk3 estate and a mk5 saloon (cosworth powered). Both are, essentially, bags of bolts, but I can't help loving them!
