I'm new to this... also experimenting with svo
20. Jan 2008 at 23:43

Just dropping in to say hello.
I joined the ranks of omega owner's a few months ago and found this site through google today, so I thought i would have a go.
I worked at a vauxhall main dealer for a couple of years and I've worked on and owned a few vauxhalls over the last few years and this one seems to be pretty damn good, so i'll hang on to the old battle tank for a while.

I'm also experimenting with veg oil as an alternative fuel (fed up with lining the taxman's pockets) currently using approximately 20% oil (svo) seems to be starting & running ok. smells nice too. I also keep a couple of spare fuel filters handy just in case.

only done a couple of tankfuls with this mix. so far so good.
anybody else having a go ????
if your interested I'm using "Pura" veg oil @56p a litre from well known supermarkets......

It would be interesting to hear of anybody else's experiences using oil.
good or bad.     Thumbs Up!

Hi and welcome to the forum

Ive been using SVO in my wifes Rover 25 at about 50/50 mix for a year or so but I dont know how the Omega will cope. Is it the 2.5 BMW engine or the 2.2 DTI?
