which model do I go for?
08. Feb 2008 at 21:00

Hi there.  I do not use my comapny car scheme.  I have a Vectra  SRi which serves me well.  However as I have spent much of mt recent years clocking up air miles, I now find that I am back to 20,000 + road miles in the UK each year!  The Vectra has been great but is now 80,000 miles and rolling.  I have always liked the look of thew Omega and can afford reaslly whatever I like.

I would like to know your views on the 2.5/2.6 models.  Ideally I want manual box, although I have had auto before, plenty of poke in a tight situation, probably more than 150 bhp, cruise control and all the comfort of this model.  I want one of the latest cars, 2003/4 I believe in tip top condition.  What model would users recommend?

I would welcome your ideas.

Best regards Chris

SmileyWelcome aboard. On my limited knowledge if you want a late manual that narrows it down to the 2.6 really. the 2.5/3.0 are good but ended before 03 04 etc. The 3.2 is only available as an auto in civilian guise but ex police manuals can be had if you don't want all the gimmicks. Myself, if money was no object i'd go for the best 2.6 manual i could find. I don't mind autos but i'd want the 3.2 if i was going down the 2 pedal road. I've heard they have a nearly endless kickdown although i've not driven one...yet... Hint...hint!!!
     Just my opinion. Thumbs Up!
