If your TC switch is above the radio, it will have the plug.

Or is your TC switch to left of radio?

If only just fitted, it may need a bit of time to adjust and locate itself, as it may still think its in the previous car !! - best thing is to go for a drive for 20 mins or so, and if you have 5 sats showing as claimed, it won`t be long before it has found itself on the map.

Done around 120 miles tonight - up to 8 sats at one point and still thinks it's in Kent...

Going to try a new GPS mouse on it tomorrow

Check that the speed pulse wire is working and that the screen installation menu shows that the pulses are being picked up.

right. stop.

The Carin system uses gyros and speed pulses to dettermine location, with GPS as a secondary (and unnecessary) locator.  Which makes it fantastic in cities/tunnels/Birmingham's inner ring road!

In Settings is a Car Location function where you tell system the jnc your car is at.

HTH.

The Siemens/VDO ones integrated into Stereo utilise the sats as you would expect, and need about 15mins of driving after car moved on low loader etc to restablish precise location.

And lastly, if your hardware is SY581 and you are running firmware less than v2.3, get it updated - v2.3 puts in nearest town automatically, which saves time...
