Electric seat wiring
19. Sep 2008 at 16:18

I'm looking to put leather seats in my 2000 2.0 cd.

If I get seats with more electric controls eg memory, as mine only has up/down is the necessary wiring already under the seat or do i need more wiring with the seats?

Also any problems or procedure when removing seats with side airbags?

Wiring will need to be adjusted. If you just want electric functions (not mirror memories etc), fairly straightforward.

The donor MUST have sideairbags, else you will have to inform insurance that you have disabled vital safety systems.  Having sideairbags will also ensure you get the right pretensioners on the seat as well.

Usual rules about airbags - disconnect battery for 5 mins before unplugging.
