Apr 2009 at 08:16 Whats the cats like at the exhaust end, the other pair were a bit worn down and was worried they wouldnt connect well with the exhaust as a result so still got that stupid cheap noisy leaking cat on lol...

Didnt wanna take the risk so scrapped em and got my money back mate...but the cheapo ones doing my head in now...although it did sound rather nice and raspy as I thrashed it up the road on the way back from the chippy tonight lol Can see its leaking exhaust fumes though so will defo need replacing so I best have them mate...when you around?

Sorry a novice question -

what is the purpose of a cat

and when should it be replaced? Trying to know if I would need the above part. Thanks

Cat is short for Catalytic Converter and is part of the exhaust system usually part of the down pipe or attached directly after it and is a legal requirement on cars etc. built after August 1992 and is for emission control purposes

You will only need one if worn out like any other exhaust part but do tend to last a lot longer than standard exhaust but are expensive new Sad

.

hi mark bought some bits off you awhile ago if you live on collumn ave imafter bits for my amiga as non insured driver hit me im after offsie headlight wing and bumper and bonet its a 51 plate but the headlights have been converted to ordinary bulbs it is silver but not realy botherd about colour as can spray it up hope you can help cheers rob beach 01724 340357
