Thanks for all the info, I have been offered £1500 for both cars, as they are so make take the money and start again Smiley I wasnt going to attempt the pump on my own as Ive found a guy who was going to help me. He hates taking the manifold off so if I do that he has the tools to do the rest Thumbs Up! but he hasnt said how much its going to cost me yet Cheesy

He's happy to do the pump, but not removing the manifold  Huh
Don't take this the wrong way, but the manifold removal is 20 minute job and is a piece of cake compared to replacing the pump, does he know what is involved ?

I hope I'm not going down that route now as both cars are going as soon as I have transfered Syd's plates. Sad The guy is  Thumbs Up! he wanted me to get involved now Ive got the bug and knew that would be the only thing I could do Grin Grin Grin Grin I may give the HOT FIX KIT ago as mentioned by osealy as a last result

Ali, are you getting another Miggy?  It would be a pity to lose you from this board, your determination to get your hands dirty and learn how to repair your cars has been a delight to see.  You've definitely got the 'bug'!  I love your avatar, btw - I think it sums up your attitude to fixing your car perfectly!   Smiley

Yes Ali i must commend you although i havent posted much as i dont have a clue really with the 2.5TD it has been nice to see your enthusiasm in trying to fix/diagnose the problems with your cars

Omegas are generally very good cars they just require maintenance like any machine! if you get another one get one with a FSH and thats been cherished they do exist!
