From what I know Nick as long as she was at fault and she hit you (namely the third party) then you should be OK. Thumbs Up!

doesnt affect you at all, YOU are the 3rd party she IS insured for.

What it means is she will have to pay for her own repairs, you are fully covered by her policy  Thumbs Up!

I'd think twice before branding her a liar....

From what youve said in this, and previous threads, she has indicated 1 thing, her husband another.

I would guess he does everything, and she doesnt really know, so is just mistaken, not deliberately misleading you.

all you need to know, is that she has 3rd party insurance (being the minimum required, as it pays out to other people for damage caused by her)

3rd party fire and theft / fully comp are just nice to haves to reimburse her for any loss she causes, or unknown parties do to her car, is vandalise, steal, torch etc.

Bizarrely, I have had quotes in the past where fully comp is cheaper than the lesser policies!

Her car is none of her insuance companies business, what she does with it is her problem, they wont be giving her a penny!

i had a bad feeling when they said she was only third party that when the car goes in the garage that ill get a phone call off them saying you o us x amount of pounds for the work done as her insurance won't pay

Don't be surprised if the insurance company (her insurance that is) try to go for a "knock for knock" even though she is 100% to blame, you've got a few more battles yet before you finally get your wonga.

In the meantime, I hope you've been to see the doctors, and I hope you have a brand new lease car on your drive if you had fully comp cover.

sensible, you could hire any equivalent car (you would have to pay), but could claim this back off her insurance)  no point though if you dont need to.  The more insurance companies pay out, the higher next years premiums will be.

If only everyone claimed for what they need, then all our premiums would be lower  Smiley

I don't think you quite understand what I'm getting at Nick.

As you are fully comp, you should already have the keys to a replacement car. When my car was driven in to back in 2001, I had a brand new (12 miles on the clock) Vectra delivered to my door less than 3 hours after the accident had occured and kept it until the claim was settled (which took 10 weeks).

These days all you will get is a tiny car on your own insurance as courtesy.

Up to you to pay for better and claim back off 'at fault insurer' for the cost Sad

You can normally save a few quid on the insurance premiums by saying you dont want a courtesy car as well  Thumbs Up!

I have, enough cars in the family that I can borrow one If needs be, would get a like for like equivalent if someone else was paying though (providing I was gonna need it)

i can have a hira car if i want one no problem
and i can have a hire car the same engine size to mine
but as ive got ann's ar to drive round in there's no point in going down the road filling in more paper work to drive a hire car for a few days if that Thumbs Up!
