Anyone interested in a possible swap with mine,need a manual to lower fuel consumption,either 3.0 or 3.2.Mine is mv6 auto on an o2 plate in silver. Thumbs Up!

Dont think that theres much of a difference really between manual and auto, maybe 8% at best........

If you want to save fuel costs, get a 4 pot or a Prius mate

in a crowded start stop traffic manuals not easy but will differ more than 8 %..

today in lunch time go for shopping with a friends  1.6 toyota (auto) ..consumption was nearly same my omega  Huh  Grin

really surprised..and the autobox was very late to change gears..think have problem with software or gear ratios.. Undecided

Can't be as bad as my partners 1.6 auto mazda 3. She get 25 mpg avg. out of it. My 3.0 MV6 does better than that.!!  Shocked Shocked

Just for reference, I have checked the 2001 Omega sales brochure I have here and 3.2s are only listed in Auto.......

But as an indicator the 2.6 manuals are only around 2-4mpg better than the 2.6 autos........

yep.. from comparing consumption figures with friends cars the main factors are car weight, gear ratios and driving style.. otherwise roughly a 3 liter engine must consume twice the 1.6 litre engine.. but thats very far from truth.. ( although they have this capability when hammered Grin)
