Are the Reading Boys the only one's who have a regular meet or are we missing something

I know we have one every month without fail come rain or shine and make the most of it.

If that means doing a fix it session or just a general chat we make the most of it and normally have a nice meal afterwards.

Normally do something for the kid's also which includes a run to the sun this weekend with a mass football match, visit to sea world and good old laugh

The usual suspects as we are now known within the group.... (me included too now)

Just seems a shame that being such a large group that nobody else seems to have a regular meet

I think it also brings members closer together as i know that from experience and have just enjoyed a BBQ with forum members at my house and had a fantastic night Kid's too.........

i put a post on about meets over here but only a couple seemed intrested. i thought it was just us over here. my mate is involved with the vectra c forum and he seems too always get some sort of meet together (althugh last one only three turned up out of ten)!

I`d like to go to a regular mids meet or more if poss but my job and other commitments at the mo dont allow me too.... Cry

Not sure if there are many members in NI to be honest but if there are you guys need to unite and meet at least once a month as its seems to me that most chat is concentrated to the forum other then a meet once or twice a year Thumbs Up!

even if we got together for a road trip to meet up with everybody else once a year at an event. i use to go to ten of the best at york evry year with the mates. good to get away to the likes of that.

No regular OOF meets in my area, though there is an ABS meet every month (and OOF and ABS members have similar interests - big Vauxhalls).  Its a Friday evening once a month, but purely a social event, no car work.

I believe there is an ABS meet near East Mids airport every month that a few turn up to.

The scots have their regular(ish) Jockular Omegas meets 2 or 3 times a year.

The Reading regular meet does appear to be the most popular though, and well done to those arranging it Thumbs Up!

we travelled to York this year and covered over 500 miles in one day as we had other appointments with another member in reading in the evening and still made the effort to visit York even if it was just for a few hours

Yup, generally the OOF meets, particularly teh camping ones, always strike me as being open and suitable for everyone, including WAGS and the kids, which is a compliment to the OOF cummunity.

I know there appeared to be an issue at York with some members feeling left out, unsure quite why or how that happened, but hopefully that was a one-off misunderstanding.


As for attending meets a fair way away, I'm sure many are like me - less prepared to travel large distances just for a couple of hours. Personally, I just don't have the time  Cry.  I prefer the overnighters, as, again personally, it gives me a bit of time to relax more than 'carpark' meets.

I do keep meaning to make one of the Reading ones - only about 130m round trip, and takes about 90m each way generally. I just never seem to have the time  Cry

True mate but it's 100 mile round trip for me and RobseyMV6 but we make it every month Thumbs Up!

True though some people have hectic lifestyles and use their freetime to their advantage
