1996 2.5 turbo diesel, driving spot on returning 36.2mpg so the computer said when suddenly she juddered a bit and stalled, pulled over and tried to restart it just kept cranking over but not firing, gave it another go and it sort of fired on 2 cylinders and then picked up, drove another 10 miles with no problem at all then it did it again, again it cleared eventually and i drove home ( another 15 miles) let it stand for an hour and now it cranks over and over and wont start for about 5 turns of the key then it fires on two and picks it self back up to run perfect, some one said could be the fuel pump ???? any one got any ideas ??
Any help gratefully appreciated, ive to go from Lincoln to Penrith at the weekend and i am getting a bit worried...thanks in advance

possibly an air problem, as said check leak off pipes, when was the fuel filter last changed
