back to basics
04. Jun 2009 at 17:07

I dropped my phone in the car park the other day, now it won't get signal  Cry

Its a good phone that did everything i wanted to (Windows Mobile HTC SPV3000)

But looking at the cost of its replacement a nice little notebook will be cheaper.

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150183

Going to use that with my old trusty Nokia 6230 as GPRS modem, from when Nokia made propper phones.

Do you break V6's as often as TheBoy? Then you need tunnie's towing services, recovery costs are just the humiliation of being towed by 2/3's of an engine

I fired it up, and it was sooo fast and nice to use.  Smiley

At the end of the day, i send very few txts and make few calls, i got a Windows phone to take advantage of the free internet.

The contract on my SIM is everything i want, £5 inc vat for all my calling and txting needs (100/125) and unlimited internet.

I know it has a silly low cap, but i like browsing the net on the train, my phone as a modem will do fine.

That laptop be also good to watch films on the train too  Cool

Not really an issue, i get 3G signal in London but i have my office PC there. On the train back its GPRS most of the way.

I usually had the 3G turned off on the phone to save power.

Been with O2 for a number of years, standard £25/30 ish contract always taking out a new phone.

Decided to buy my own phone, and get a SIM only contract.

They took their £15 a month contract, and discounted it to £5 inc Vat

I blagged internet on it as well or i would leave.

So i got:

125 txts
100 mins any time any network
Unlimited Internet

Does me for my needs, used to use msn on my phone....

I've got the NC10's big brother - the Q45 with a 12" screen.   It is an awesome computer that handles everything I want it to including editing videos, copying DVD's and setting up websites.   I've just got an Acer One with the Atom chip that the NC10 has - it was £130 online at Dixons with an 8.9" screen.  I've upped the memory to 1.5gb and it is very good but not as good as the Q45.   I do like the NC10 but the Q45 is a similar price on e-bay and much more useable.
