Which gear when driving at 30mph?
05. Jun 2009 at 20:52

Just wondering what gear you guys (and girls) use when driving in town at around 30 mph in your Omegas (or any other car; please state)? For arguements sake constant 30 mph, normal conditions.

I use 3rd because I don't want to labour the engine too much, the revs drop below 1,500rpm in 4th so I like to keep it around 2,000rpm.

Mine is the 2.5V6 (please state engine size too & rpm)

Cheers  Smiley

3rd mostly.... if i just came in from a fast section and feeling lazy, 4th is still fine

Do you break V6's as often as TheBoy? Then you need tunnie's towing services, recovery costs are just the humiliation of being towed by 2/3's of an engine

Be careful with my zonda. If you have to brake suddenly, push my missus out the door so she doesn't put bits of brain all over the screen. Thanks.
