Did you go ahead and buy a 1U psu Tunnie?

I have got a Shuttle PC here that is taking 20 minutes to fire up after it is first prodded.

I was thinking of buying either

http://www.overtek.co.uk/products/eng-flex-atx-1u-power-supply

or

http://www.overtek.co.uk/products/seventeam-220w-flex-atx-1u-power-supply

I think the second one is better quality. The first one is by the same manufacturer (Achme) that made the original PSU.

I like most of Apples products, but you do pay a price for their looks and name now.

Actually, most Apple machines run Windows a lot better than other hardware. When i boot camped my Mac Mini, it was super fast and stable. Also remember seeing an artical showing a fully specced up Dell tower (8gb) ram and so on, the mac version was a lot cheaper! Wink

Their displays are amazing too Cool

Standard hardware is equally fast (assuming similar spec) and very stable (assuming some idiot hasn't been inside without ESP straps).

Killers to stability of normal computers are people who home build/upgrade who don't really know what they are doing, and (related) cheap psus (as in the type you get in sub £50 cases).

And in the case of your shuttle - abysmal thermal design, and very poor quality psu.
