I have to say that I agree, this is a programming of small shildren rather than an approach to make them aware of the background of the subject when they are older so they can make thier own decision.

There will be some lefty tree hugging smart smart car driving teacher involved somewhere.

However, think what you could write!

The crazy thing is the environmental damage which will be done in sending such a weighty package of sand covered pictures  Grin

Thank you for your agreement, Mark. Thumbs Up!

I have sent a letter to the head in which I posed the question "How can it be ethical to encourage children to support a government minister to sign a document the children cannot even read, yet alone understand?"

I also pointed out that Section 407 of the 1996 Education Act prohibits bringing political issues to the attention of pupils unless they are offered a balanced
presentation of opposing views.

I'm not holding my breath, but I am satisfied that I have spoken out on this issue.

I believe it is good thing that children are given information about possible global warming.......although I'am very much against this becoming so overpowering.......that it turns into propaganda/indoctrination.....
This message would be too much for a four year old child to understand..........but older children 8-11....should be starting to have a rudimentary understanding .....of climate change.... Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up! Thumbs Up!.

Better still, they should be presented with the facts, in order to form their own opinion, not presented with a view that leads them to believe it is fact!  That is not understanding, that is programming ............... and is wrong! (whatever your views on climate)

Have there never been climate changes on this earth before???? Well funny i say that because i think there have been quite a few and i dont remember dino driving round on a petrol drinking c02 emmiting chariot. But i suppose we will just have to pump Billions of pounds into wind farms just to see.

There are no arguments over global warming, the question is the driver behind it be it CO2 emissions or natural global cycles.

I personaly have examined the available facts and infer that CO2 emissions are not contributing to global warming in any significant way (as backed up by the latest scientific studies), others infer a different cause.

But, its the facts that should be presented, not some 'do this because this is the cause' approach.

I have to say that I am worred about our over consumption and throw away apporoach....but thats a different matter all together.

Trouble is that the politicians are using global warming as the new window tax!

Exactly.
I'm from the David Bellamy School of Environmentalism

“And my opinion is that there is absolutely no proof that carbon dioxide is anything to do with any impending catastrophe. The ¬science has, quite simply, gone awry. In fact, it’s not even science any more, it’s anti-science…”

“…The thing that annoys me most is that there are genuine environmental problems that desperately require attention. I’m still an environmentalist, I’m still a Green and I’m still campaigning to stop the destruction of the biodiversity of the world. But money will be wasted on trying to solve this global warming “problem” that I would much rather was used for looking after the people of the world.”

Professor David Bellamy, 5 November 2008
