I have dire memories of Sellers doing it, but did like the Steve Martin ones.

judging by the results I should give Sellers another try....

I voted for Peter Sellers, but I've never seen Steve Martin's version.

I don't like Steve Martin very much, anyway, although LA Story was brilliant and Roxanne was a good film.  But I can't imagine anyone doing Clouseau better than Sellers.  He is Clouseau.

There's never going to be a better Poirot than David Suchet, or Sherlock Holmes than Jeremy Brett.  And that goes for Clouseau too. Smiley

Peter Sellers is in a different league than Steve Martin playing Clouseau in my opinion.

Agreed, Sellers IS Clouseau and it was sacrilege for anyone else to try playing the role. The remake of the Pink Panther with Steve Martin was truly apalling. Angry
There is and will only ever be one Chief Inspector Clouseau - Sellers at his very best. Thumbs Up!
