Did give mine a good old blast through tonight on the way home.

Shoved sport mode on and left it that way.

Once I got onto an A road, I had a bit of a play.

She does pickup well for a big car! Grin

Still gets me thought when you think your just plodding along - look down and Shocked

'I think I need to ease off the loud pedal' springs to mind Grin

I did the complete opposite (to start with) on Saturday night on my way back from Lincoln. Heading south on the A46 where it crosses the A1 at Newark and got this retard in an old escort trying to push me along. I ended up doing 20mph with him right up my @rse, all I could see was him waving his arms and shouting Grin

Got out to a more open bit he went to overtake and I thought I'd test my turbo. A bit of twitching and a lot of turbo whistle and he was gone far far into the distance in my rear view mirror Grin

Very under estimated are out little miggys (by other drivers.)

Yes the little cars may get ahead for a short while they certainly dont stay there for long.

Was rather impressed with mine a while back when a DB9 tried it on giving it the full beans on an uphill stretch in Sheffield (just measured centre's of roundabouts at .44 of a mile on google earth(straght line as well)) coming off the 1st roundabout we we nose and nose, just before braking my front bumper was level with his rear wheel. The DB9 sounds the biz when you have your ear right next to its exhaust. Thumbs Up!

, that the Omega could even think of keeping up!

Modern 4 pot diesels easily keep up with 3.2's

Do you break V6's as often as TheBoy? Then you need tunnie's towing services, recovery costs are just the humiliation of being towed by 2/3's of an engine

There are one or two smaller 4 pot diesel cars that will keep up if ragged to within an inch of their life. I've not noticed any "easily*" keeping up with me.

Booting it in mother tunnies 3.0 Estate, 2.2 CDTi Accords keep up, i still beat them of course, but not exactly by much. Putting the power on at 90+ is where the 3's are at the best, but at low speeds not a lot in it.

one of my favourites is at night when I briefly hit my rear fog switch, watch them panic!! Grin

If you've manually limited the shift to 2nd, then there's no benefit by hitting the sports button. The sports button is only there to increase the revs at which point the gearbox will change up at. You've already done that yourself. Thumbs Up!

0-60 in 9.6 versus 8.0. Methinks you weren't trying. Wink

Whereas, in the tractor, the stick would have to be frantically stirred around the box to keep it in the power. Grin

.. and that's the point, really. On paper you can argue that a modern TD eurobox is just as good, but when you're pressed into a nice comfy heated seat as the autobox slots up through the gears without even the need for ear defenders...
