We went to Jodrell Bank a few weeks ago, which since the last time we went has had several things removed like the Planetarium which we enjoyed. Anyway they have a 3D A Trip to Mars film which really is excellent. On the way it takes you past the Sun then other huge stars that dwarf the sun almost to a speck Shocked

Very humbling indeed, great find!

But I dont understand one part of the commentary.

"Some of these universes are moving away from us sometimes faster than  the speed of light"

How is it possible to see them then.  What light is faster than the speed of light?  Undecided

Just because something is moving away at the speed of light does not stop it emitting light re-wards.....if you run off the back of a 30mph train...at 30mph ....what happens.

True but if you are moving away from something faster than the speed of light, how can you see it?  The light waves will never reach you.  It's just like 2 jets flying faster than the speed of sound, if one was infront of the other he would never hear the jet behind him.

Well objects with mass are supposed to be unable to go faster than light.

Too tired to think about relativity and light
